Volunteer with Us

Knit for Peace needs knitters, packers, sorters and clerical help

Knit for Peace distributes tens of thousands of items a year to those in need both at home and abroad. Every single item we distribute is knitted and donated by a volunteer and given by us to somebody in need. You can Knit for Peace on your own, or as a member of a knitting group. Whether you are a complete novice or already a keen knitter, we would love it if you would knit for us. Knitting is good for your health; it lowers blood pressure, it is a positive social activity and can provide relief from chronic pain as well as reducing arthritis and slowing the onset of dementia. If you are based near our office in London and would like to volunteer a few hours of your time each week for packing and unpacking knitting and processing donations, recording goods in and out do get in touch.

Office based volunteering

We also offer opportunities for office-based volunteering to help with the Good Gifts Catalogue, Knit for Peace and Card Aid.

Help pre-Christmas

Card Aid shops are run by the Charities Advisory Trust, and are pop up shops in London, Cambridge and Guildford from October until Christmas each year. Volunteers are needed in the shops. Card Aid shops stock cards from a wide range of charities, with at least one third of the price of every card going direct to the charity, which is about 3 times more than in high street shops. Volunteers should be able to commit at least one 3 hour session for a minimum of 4 weeks. Please call (020 7794 9835) or email us for further information on volunteering with us at the Charities Advisory Trust.
